The first phase of your fight is all about blocking. Stay close to Demise. Shield Bash his attacks and swing your sword once. The second phase of the Demise boss fight involves a lot of lightning and Skyward Strikes. Whenever you catch lightning, throw it at Demise. Get in close and deal as much damage as you can. It deals a lot of damage and kills the momentum of the fight. Whenever Demise charges, backflip away hold ZL to lock on, hold back on the left thumbstick, and hit A. Keep holding your sword up to catch lightning.
Hit Demise with this version of a Skyward Strike, and then close in to hack away. Keep dealing damage the same way.
Keep trying to deliver a Fatal Blow until you land one and finally defeat Demise. Phase 1 The first phase of your fight against Demon Lord Ghirahim takes place on a series of magical platforms. In the latest instalment of the Smash Bros. Demise is summoned through cores from both Ghirahim and The Imprisoned. Demise may have been the first to hold the title of "Demon King" but he's not the only one in the Zelda Franchise to be known as that. Both Ganon and Malladus from Spirit Tracks also share the same name. Demise however will always be the first holder of that title that went on to set up a legacy of fear and awe that comes with the name.
You actually get to face The Imprisoned multiple times as a boss in quite a few legend modes as well as in adventure mode. The mechanic to defeat it is the same as in Skyward Sword. From the first little tease to Breath of The Wild 2 where we saw Link and Zelda exploring a cave and coming across some mummified remains, rumours of who it was set the internet into serious speculation mode. The obvious thought was that it is the return of Ganon but another theory suggests it may be Demise.

During the next phase of the battle, the entire arena starts to fill with rain, thunder, and lightning. Raise your sword to the Sky to prepare a Skyward Strike. As soon it is ready and you are targeting Demise, unleash a Skyward Strike at him. You have to be quick here, since Demise will try to hit you almost immediately after the Skyward Strike has been prepared.
Demise will prepare his own Skyward Strikes during this phase. If he already has a Skyward Strike charged and you toss one of your own at him, they will cancel. After you successful hit Demise with a Skyward Strike run on over and deliver consecutive sword slashes at him.
Demise is not weak enough for you to hit him. He almost always performs a charge attack after getting up from the ground. Repeat this same process of hitting Skyward Strikes and slashing at Demise. The second time that Demise falls to the floor you can deliver a Fatal Blow if you act quickly enough; otherwise, you can deliver a Fatal Blow much easier the third time to defeat him once and for all.
